Education Savings Accounts (ESA's)
On January 24, 2023, Governor Kim Reynolds signed the Students First Act into law. This law creates Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) for eligible K-12 students attending an accredited non-public school. This includes CICS!
Eligibility for the ESA's is being rolled out over a 3-year period, which began this coming school year, 2023-2024. It will provides $7,598 for each qualifying student. For this year, all incoming kindergarten students, all new students transferring from public schools, and all current students whose household income is at or below 300% poverty level qualified. Next year, for the 2024-2025 school year, all current students with household income at or below 400% will qualify. For school year 2025-2026, ALL CICS STUDENTS will qualify.
